The issue was always that some were (are still, in some jurisdictions) being fed to healthy animals in order to have promote faster growth. That's dangerous and unethical. My understanding is that this practice was outlawed by the FDA. Hopefully this is not one of the regulations that Trump will roll back.Paul Prescodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15412258048017521995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790327154193097194.post-6988802151388416602013-09-04T12:04:10.445-05:002013-09-04T12:04:10.445-05:00Kacey, thanks for stopping by the blog again. This is different than feeding antibiotics daily for no good reason. We have a hog farm and we treat our animals with anutibitotics when they are sick- unlike organic farms that sell their animals when they are sick! Our animals are tested and have to be free of anutibitotics before they ever go to market! I would much rather have a healthy animal then a sick one!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17376457245829024044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790327154193097194.post-61425519984444601282013-08-13T08:46:34.286-05:002013-08-13T08:46:34.286-05:00Darcy, thanks for stopping by. We also keep track of these cows or calves by giving them an ear tag that we trim into a strip. Giving antibiotics is a matter of health. We want our cattle to be healthy and happy.
