101 in 1001 - the beginning

Writing down some goals.

So I have seen this done on a couple people's blogs and then I came across this website www.dayzeroproject.com. I would encourage you to visit the website there are some great articles on there. I figure part of setting goals is writing them down, as well now I'll have to be accountable to all my blog readers. Every two weeks I'll give you an update on how my goals are coming along. You'll see my goals down the side of the page. February 7, 2o12 is my deadline date!

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

  5. So I realize that cleaning my room will be a challenge. However, I figure if I get past 2 weeks, maybe that will turn it 3 and then four. Fingers crossed.

Emilie I promise I'll call as soon as I have a phone, we do need to discuss my upcoming travel schedule. A lot of it could be based around you - aren't you lucky!

Ariana I'm kind of feeling overwelmed by the list already. I just need to get started!

Stacy, lucky you - you get to be apart of me accomplishing this list. Maybe you'll get a birthday card ontime next year! St. Louis isn't as close as you think.
