Turquoise Thursday: Stella & Dot Giveaway

Sometimes you need a little pop of color. When my friend and Stella & Dot personal stylist, Holli Hatmaker, asked me to check out their new turquoise items and pick something out for myself and to giveaway I was pumped!

Instantly I saw these cute Soiree Studs and thought they would be a great choice for one of my lucky followers.

I've been adding more gold to my jewelry collection so I liked that these combined turquoise and gold. Plus, the size was perfect.

I also really liked the Charlize Teardrop Earrings, and have actually given these as a gift to one of my girlfriends. They are only an 1.5 inches, which is great because so many earrings like are huge.

I also loved this Vintage Twist Bracelet. I think it would go great with either set of these earrings.

Now it is time to enter. We'll be giving away one pair of the Soiree Studs. All you have to do is follow the instructions below! Hope you have a great Turquoise Thursday.

Poshmark: The Ultimate Way to Shop & Sell

Have you been hearing the buzz about Poshmark? This weekend I got addicted.

What is Poshmark?
It is an app that you download to your iPhone or iPad, and it allows you to sell or buy clothing. Think Goodwill, but brand names and stuff that you will actually wear. A lot of the items are also brand new with the tags still on, others are gently worn. You can find some awesome deals. I bought a pair of Dojo Seven for Mankind jeans that usually retail around $160 for $23. You can also find lots of great deals on Sperry's - I've bought two pair now averaging $25, and jewelry like Kate Spade - bought the earrings I wore in my sister's wedding for $25 and they are regularly $50.

How do you get started?
1. You have to have an iPhone or iPad (update now available for Android) When you sign up use the referral code CRYSTALCATTLE and you'll received a $5 credit to start shopping.
2. It is only for people in the USA
3. Start pulling all the stuff out of your closet that is too big, too small or that you just don't wear anymore. It can be clothing, shoes or accessories.
4. Use the Poshmark App to take a picture and type in the details.
5. Set your price.
6. When you sell an item for more than $15 Poshmark gets 20% and you get 80% of the selling price. On items less than $15 Poshmark takes a flat $2.95. Once the item is sold they will email you a prepaid label, and you pop your item in the mail. Once they seller receives the items you are paid by Poshmark. You can either withdraw your funds or use them to make purchases from other sellers.
7. If you are interested in just shopping you'll still need to set up an account. Nothing comes out of your bank account until you have receive the item and accepted it.

These are just a few of the items from my "closet." Since I joined back in 2013 I have earned nearly $600. Which is a lot more than I would have gotten at Goodwill!

A couple of other tips. You will want to RSVP/join Parties. When the party starts click on an item in your closet and click on the share button. This allows you to share your items with hundreds of people who aren't even following you. I am also learning this is a great way to build followers.

If you are in buyer mode don't be afraid to ask for a better price. They have a really cool feature where you can make an offer, and the buyer can counter offer.

Also, there is something called bundling. If a buyer likes more than one item in your closet/store they might ask you to bundle the items so they don't have to pay shipping on each item. This means you make a new listing with the bundled items and sometimes the seller will also give a discount.

Now comment below with your questions or if you are on Poshmark leave your username so I can follow you. My username is Crystal Cattle. Happy Poshing!

The Fake Holiday I Used to Celebrate.

Have you heard of Fake Patty's Day? I have, and for many years it was the highlight of my spring. You see in Manhattan, KS the weekend before Spring Break/the real St. Patrick's Day there is holiday called Fake Patty's Day. It involves activities such as kegs and eggs, green beer, Louisville Slugger, Pita Pit, green togas, doing the KSU chant on table tops and all kinds of other shenanigans that can go down in a college town, and I was there to celebrate. It was really quite a clever idea that the Aggieville Bar Association put together to generate a little more business before everyone else for Spring Break.

The memories created from the weekend are some of my very favorite college memories. I made a return for a couple Fake Patty's Day post graduation. The funny thing was that during this time I thought every college town celebrated this glorious day. I was wrong. It was Manhattan's own little secret.

As Saturday approached I began to see the posts on Facebook, and sense an excitement in the air. And even though some of my alumni friends still took part my life is a little different now. 1. It's a 7.5 hour drive to Manhattan, 2. The Boy was at the state bowling tournament, so that meant I was chore girl this weekend, 3. we had a couple cows due to calve, and 4. I don't know if my body could handle such an event anymore.

So instead of feeling sad that I was missing Fake Patty's Day I looked back on the photos that we took, and prayed that our future children never hear the stories of that weekend. It made me very thankful that I try to live life to fullest and don't have any regrets. Yes, some bad decisions were made that weekend and probably college in general but they were learning lessons. I wouldn't exchange the memories and the fun for anything.

Plus, the new baby calf we got this weekend is pretty darn cute.

Here she is all ooey and gooey.

Turquoise Thursday: Purses

In the spring I usually start itching for a new purse. Perhaps because my birthday is in March and I have often bought myself a new purse with my birthday money. Last year it was a gorgeous Michael Kors black bag. It goes with me everywhere.

This smaller turquoise handbag caught my eye on Pinterest the other day. The boutique is called Ruche and it has lots of cute things. Including a couple cute belts found here and here.

Or if you want to spent a few more dollars Coach has a very handbags in turquoise this spring.

What's the one thing that you always like to purchase in the spring?

Introducing the newest babies

There are a few new babies in town, and there is going to be ton more throughout March. (So a ton for us is like 12, a ton for others is like 50). I've got a new little boy and new little girl to introduce you to.

This is the bull calf. The Boy so far has called him Paul Revere. Why you may ask? I asked this too. Well, this bull calf's sire (dad) is name Bailout. And Paul Revere bailed out the Americans by yelling "The Red Coats are coming, the Red Coats are coming!" Follow? Yes, naming is quite the process at our house. We'll see if the name sticks. I love the first moment when baby calves stand up.

The next calf is really special to us. Her mom Fantasty ended up being a bottle calf when she was a baby because her mom didn't have enough milk. She even got to spent some time in the Boy's basement. The Boy pretty much raised Fantasy all while we were dating. Now, she has her own little baby heifer and Fantasy is a great mom. You'll also notice that I am keeping it real and there is some afterbirth on the cow. It can take a few hours for the cow to "clean" and expel all the afterbirth.

This is a really quick video of Fantasy and Baby Fantasy. I've recently joined Vine, which is like the video world of Instagram. I've got a couple more calf videos posted on it, and let me know if you have jumped on the latest social media platform. If you are on Vine look me up - Crystal Cattle.

A week of Instagram: The Game of Life

I think we are due for another Crystal Cattle Instagram update. I got to travel a little bit the middle of February but this weekend will make the third weekend in a row that I am home. I have no idea when the last time was that happened, but it has been great.

You've got to check out this Bed Head Thickening Spray called Superstar Queen for a Day. It is kind of like a mousse, except it sprays more like a hairspray. I used this stuff all the time in college and kind of forgot how much I like it. It give my fine hair great volume without weighing it down. Love it.

My travel took me to San Antonio for a couple days so I made sure that I made a trip over to the Riverwalk. Here's a couple questions. How do they make their margaritas so darn good? And how can I grow an avocado tree in Iowa without a greenhouse. I am working a few ideas because I think I am getting addicted to avocados.

Look how big Parker the bull calf is getting. He has even started to eat some grain. It always amazes me how like calves are smart enough to discover things like grain. This weekend we gave his mom, Teardrop a hair cut. She looks like a whole new women! We have had a couple new calves so I'll be sure to post those pictures soon.

The other night I surprised the Boy by bringing home the Game of Life. As a kid my family used to play it all the time, and he said him and his sister played it a ton. He beat me, but I figured being a Lawyer with an Executive Cape House and retiring with 1.5 million isn't too shabby!
