Spring Wedge Love

Last week, when I in Oklahoma City for the World Largest Youth Expo aka The Oklahoma Youth Expo, I had to do a little shopping. You've probably seen an Instagram picture or two of me wearing heels out in the barn or pasture. Sometimes there is no time to change into more practical shoes before you run out to the barn to feed or to put cows back where they belong. I will tell you it is a lot easier to maneuver the barnyard in wedges than heels! Plus, with a Dominican vacation coming up I'm thinking that a new pair may be in order.

Right now I am leaning towards 2 and 3. There are so many other cute pairs on the TOMS website, you'll have to check them out as well.

Which wedge is your favorite, and are you more of a wedge sandal or flip flop kind of gal? Also, don't forget to sign up to the Spring Beauty Swap

Turquoise Thursday: Turquoise Sandals

This spring has been long. Wayyyyy too long. All I want is a little sunshine because people are starting to get a little grouchy.

These are the reasons we need sunshine.
1. We've been getting moisture (which we really do need, it is still very dry) but we need some heat to get this grass growing. Our cows are very tired of eating hay, and it is very expensive for the Boy and I to keep on buying hay to feed our cows.

2. The soil temperature is hovering around 42 degrees, and we need it to be 55 degrees before we can plant corn. According to Farm Journal only 4% of what was expected to be planted at this point is actually in the ground. Sunshine and a warm wind will help that temperature rise, otherwise we'll be planting corn that has mittens on it.

3. Yes, I love my Frye tall boots, but want to wear some sandals. And I refuse to be one of those girls that freezes for fashion. Come out sun so I can show off my toes.

While waiting for the sun to appear I found a few options.

How cute are these leopard and turquoise sandals from Chic Wish. Bad news they are out of stock. That wasn't very nice of me to get you all excited was it. Good news there is a similar pair that comes in a really cute neon yellow

Now here is a really cute pair you can buy, and I did. I ordered these DV by Dolce Vita Archer sandals from Piperlime.com the other day, and I was able to use a coupon to knock a few bucks off. They should be arriving next week and I can't wait to get them.

While on Piperlime.com I also saw these great beaded sandals again from DV by Dolce Vita. They have some great options this year. p.s. I love Pimperlime.com because they have free shipping and returns.

Finally, check out these cute sandals that Southern Jewlz just got in. I love the tribal look of them.

Now for something that it is a little off the topic of turquoise. I have to say that I love everyone who has been sending me pictures of their new Erin Condren Life Planners. Looks like after my blog post lots of you got the itch. If you ordered one and I haven't seen a picture yet get it up on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and  tag @crystalcattle so I can see a picture.

Wedding: Let's Talk about Shoes

Put on your dancing shoes.

Why are wedding shoes so important? I mean no one actually sees them until you kick up your feet on the dance floor to Footloose. Maybe it is because they are one of the wedding accessories you can actually wear again?

I had a hard time picking out what I would wear. I knew I wanted heels for church, and the boots for the dinner and dance so that I could do just that - dance the night away. I was really set on blue shoes for awhile.

These Royal Blue Wedding Shoes from Nina in particular, but they were pretty high and I was worried that my hem would be too long once I put my boots on. All my bridesmaids were going to wear nude colored shoes, so with a last minute shopping trip in Oklahoma City and spotting these Nine West Nude Pumps my decision was made.

Even bigger score... these shoes were on sale and are super comfortable. I also wore them at the rehearsal dinner and I took them with me on our honeymoon.

The girls also came with a selection of awesome shoes. I'm trying to remember where everyone got their's from. I know two sets came from Target similar to these ones. The third ones in were my sister's and she got those at Aldo a few years ago.

However, as I said I really wanted to buy a nice pair of boots for the wedding. I had been dreaming about a certain pair of Turquoise Old Gringos Cowboy Boots that I had been seeing all over on Pinterest. Just before Christmas while visiting the Boy's sister in Fort Worth we walked into a store called Mavericks and there they were. There was no way I was walking out of that store without those boots. I was ready to scoop them up, when the Boy said you know I don't have your Christmas present bought yet. Bing. Problem solved.

My heels and boots made a nice pair.
However, I wasn't the only one that had boots with me as I asked all my bridesmaids to bring their boots along for a fun picture.

From left to right. Kristi - a great friend who introduced the Boy and I, Dana - a great friend who I met through the Angus business, Stacy - my sister, me, Abby - another friend from the cattle business, Jaci - the Boy's sister and now min,e too!
Aren't they a smart looking group of girls! With their boots they are all wearing part of their bridesmaid gifts. Men's black button ups that we had embroidered with there initials. The before the rehearsal dinner you could help my brain was turning to mush as I could figured out whose shirt was cBd - oh right those were going to be my new initials! Their boots are from Corral and Ferrini.

What were your wedding shoes like? Do you still have them today?

Toes in the Sand - Turquoise Thursday

Turquoise Sandals

Summer is definitely getting closer, and although my go to shoes most days are a pair of cowboys, sometimes a pair of shorts and sandals are needed for a little fun. The Canadian long weekend was last weekend, we celebrated Victoria Day, and the American long weekend is this weekend, we will celebrate Memorial Day. So how about a little turquoise to add to your long weekend wardrobe!

I am waiting for these turquoise sandals to go on sale at Banana Republic so they can go home with me!

A little more casual, but just as cute.

Really thinking these would be a good addition too.

And is turquoise isn't quite your color, then why not pink. Love these wedges from Banana Republic - can you see a trend. I really like that store.
