One last thing I have to share with you. Although, Purple Banner Designs does amazing livestock gifts pieces check out this awesome Christmas outfit she recently created! You can read more about this outfit here.
My favorite Christmas gifts are functional: books, home stuff, workout gear, etc. That blanket is so flippin' cute! If I don't win, I am going to have to order one for my good friend who is pregnant--she would love it :)!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas gifts was an old garden box that my dad gave me last year--he and my grandpa built the box when my dad was a kid. My neighbor painted the inside of the box with a field and a tractor. It is simple and wouldn't mean much to anyone else, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteCute stuff, Crystal! I usually don't do this kind of thing, but wanted to share one of my favorite Christmas gift stories with you... One year, my dad gave my brother and I envelopes with money in them. Of course, we were so excited -- then he told us that we were to give the money away! He didn't care where it went, as long as it was to a person or a charity in need. What a great learning experience! Looking back, I realize what a valuable lesson my dad taught my brother and I that Christmas. So many of us are truly fortunate, and it is so rewarding to "give back" especially during the Holidays. Happy holidays everyone!
ReplyDeleteLoving the cards!! My favorite isn't so much the gifts, but rather the shopping.(Shocking I know) I like spending time thinking about each person and dreaming up what they would love...
ReplyDeleteThe note cards would be so great for Christmas gift thank you cards! My most memorable Christmas gift was a quarter horse gelding. I needed a horse and still use him.
ReplyDeleteThe note cards look fantastic Crystal!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift to give is cookies in a jar, all the dry ingredients in a jar with instructions of how to add wet and bake!
I love getting them, so I started giving this gift last year!
The best thing I've ever done is have your blog directed straight to Outlook!
ReplyDeleteIt's a rule I have that I can't talk about Christmas presents until after my birthday... which is this weekend... but - the manfriend and I did get an "angel" and I shopped like a crazy person. So the best gift I could ever receive is a neice or nephew. :-)
My most favorite gifts received were those that were heirloom in nature...a quilt made from scraps that belonged to my great-grandmother and my grandmother's set of knitting needles are two examples that come immediately to mind. Each year, my grandmother compiles a bag of smaller items for me to open at Christmas, although she is thousands of miles away when I open it. What I like about this gift is that, although they are material items that mean very little in the grand scheme of things, they reminded my grandmother of me and in turn, I think of her when I use them or look at them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I too love the note cards!
I always anticipate Christmas cards. Its my favorite part of the Christmas season....mostly because it gives me a chance to put new photos of family and friends up and catch up the lives of those we don't see often enough. I even devoted a new project area to Christmas cards - and they hang on our refrigerator until we get a new one next year!
ReplyDeleteI love purple banner designs!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift would have to be the engagement ring I got last year. Cody and I were just talking about how much our lives have changed in one year. I would love to get the blanket for sweet Baby Fred. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes Crystal...I am officially following your blog.
My favorite Christmas gifts are my Shutterfly books - every year I make 2 - one of our week at the county fair showing and one of our year as a family! I love to make them and then I just let people know when they are ready and they buy them for me for Christmas - they mean the world to me!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course I am a follower of you AND Purple Banner Designs!
And I already voted for both of you on Pride Of The Barn, both web page and facebook page!
THANKS CRYSTAL!
BEST Of The Barn - Pride of the Barn is the award at our County Fair so that is always what I think of first!
ReplyDeleteOMG that stuff is ADORABLE!! I only wish I had discovered Purple Banner sooner! My best Christmas gift....hmmm.... I think I'd have to go back to my childhood and say my cabbage patch doll. Last Christmas I bought one exactly like her for my daughter. The baby powder smell brought back a flood of memories! Oh P.S. I "liked" Purple Banner on FB too!
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is going to sound sappy, but ever since I moved 1,500 miles away from my family, the best Christmas gift for me is to spend time with them. When I can't be with them, the second best gift is being surrounded by my friends and faux-families. Cards with long letters also make me want to hug everyone. And I'm not a person who hugs. :)
ReplyDeleteI like gifts I can use! Although I like things to hang on the wall if it isn't functional, it's not for me!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift is being able to go home for the Holidays. There is nothing better then Christmas Eve at Grandparents on the Tokach side - which includes lots of food and presents, plus a visit with Santa. Followed by midnight mass. Christmas Day is spent with my mom's family. Pure bliss!
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing another post on Purple Banner Designs...I actually ordered a onsie from there after your last post for Alex's niece. I am still eyeing some notecards for myself.
Have a great week!
I just wanted to comment that an older post of yours is what sent us PBD's way ... and I have been so incredibly happy. I am waiting on my 3rd project from them in about a month's time. Bethany is incredible to work with ... so THANK YOU to you, Crystal!! ~Traci (ZNT)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas gift is getting to spend the Holidays with loved ones. There is no better gift than time with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteJust as you do, I also like earning the honor of best gift giver in the family. I put a lot of thought into the gifts I give and this year I have some awesome ones. So my favorite gift is seeing how much others enjoy the gifts I give them—especially my kids.
ReplyDeleteI want that dress...for me :) I could have worn it in Vegas...anything goes there, right?!
ReplyDeleteAnna, I love your comment! We all have a little princess somewhere inside of us.
